Realtors association inducts new officers

IDENT Diane Smith passed the gavel to new President Patricia Jegge.

The celebration was a chance to recognize the organization's new president and board of directors.

There are eight directors who share a wide range of responsibilities. The new board took their oaths at the dinner.

They are responsible for serving the association, attending monthly meetings and participating in the numerous committees that are a part of the association.

"Being a realtor is a discipline; it's a commitment to each other," said Gary Strohm, current director.

In her speech, 2002 President, Diane Smith, told the audience that the association currently has 553 members.

"That's the highest membership we've ever had," Smith said.

During the night special awards were presented. Realtor of the year went to Del Ray Hammons.

After awards were presented the new board of directors were recognized.

Diane Smith, Gary Strohm, Dossie Carter, Holly Mabery, Jaque Weems, Ernie Kirby, John Knowles and Milt Thompson make up the new board.

The 2003 officers were also recognized. Donna Brooks will serve as the association's secretary and treasurer. Michael McShane will serve as vice president, Don Osgood is the president elect and Patricia Jegge is the new president.

"I'm looking forward to this year," Jegge told the audience.
