Red Sox coach Scott Wilburn finds a fun way to keep his players cool in the dugout during last Saturday's game against the Cardinals
One of those wins was a 4-3 decision over the Sox on Saturday at Herridge Field. Anthony Sandoval hit an inside-the-park home run, which raced down the first base line, to break a 3-3 tie in the bottom of the last inning.
The Cards then held off the Marlins 8-5 on Monday to seal the co-championship. Both the Cardinals and Red Sox finished 13-3, four games ahead of the Giants and White Sox. The Marlins and Diamondbacks tied for third with 7-8-1 marks.
In the Majors division, the White Sox captured their fifth straight season championship. The team, coached by David Hauser, faced several stern challenges but finished one game ahead of the Cardinals and three games ahead of both the Athletics and Marlins.
The White Sox finished play this week with an 11-0 victory over the Cubs and a 9-1 decision over the Angels. The Cards beat the A’s 9-2 to secure second place all to themselves.
