Hospital names new president

"We are very pleased to welcome Jim as our new C.O.O.," said Ray Selna, acting chairman of the VVMC board. "Jim has a wealth of talent and experience in healthcare administration."

Sinek holds a master's degree in hospital and healthcare administration from the University of Iowa in Iowa City; a law degree from the Creighton University School of Law in Omaha, Neb.; and a bachelor's degree in business administration from Buena Vista College in Storm Lake, Iowa.

Most recently, Sinek was the president and chief executive officer of Buena Vista Regional Medical Center, a 54-bed, nonprofit hospital in Storm Lake, Iowa. He is a diplomat of the American College of Healthcare Executives.

"I'm happy to welcome Jim Sinek as the new president/COO of VVMC," said Joseph Kortum, NAH president and CEO. "Jim demonstrated a great combination of experience, education and leadership qualities. I believe he will be an asset to the community as well as to our organization."

Sinek will assume the VVMC presidency Oct. 14.
