Feb. 4 at around 5 p.m., Yavapai County Sheriff's deputies arrested two men for driving under the influence after the driver of one vehicle collided with another, deputies said.
John Byron Hackett, 53, of Clarkdale, was arrested and charged with DUI and extreme DUI, when the vehicle he was driving rear-ended the vehicle driven by Roger Janousek, 28, of Camp Verde, deputies said.
Janousek was suspected of being under the influence and placed under arrest and searched. Deputies said they found a syringe in Janousek's pocket.
Deputies said the man admitted it was for taking the drug methamphetamine. Janousek was charged with DUI-drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia, authorities said, and added that the collision occurred at the intersection of Cornville Road and Arizona 89A in Cornville.
Neither driver was reported to be injured. Deputies said Hackett's breath alcohol content was .295 percent.
