Obituary: Mary Ann Davidson, 1926-2008

Mary Ann Davidson, 81, of Cottonwood, died Jan. 30, 2008, at Banner Baywood Medical Center in Mesa. She was born May 9, 1926, in Danville, Ill.

Mary Ann and John A. Davidson first moved to Arizona in the 1950s and received teaching degrees from Arizona State Teachers College at Flagstaff (now Northern Arizona University).  After teaching in Arizona and the Philippines, they settled on Oak Creek in Echo Canyon, just near Hidden Valley and Page Springs.   She was active in Cottonwood, Sedona, and Flagstaff throughout the next 45 years, and was the Jerome librarian for 15 years. Recently, she resided at Pine Shadows in Cottonwood.  

She is survived by her twin sons, Jesse Furst and John Terry Davidson, and one grandson.

A memorial service is planned for today, Feb. 8, 5-7 p.m. at Mariposa Gardens, 400 S. Power Road, Mesa.
