Effie Joyce Rose, 67, of Cottonwood, died March 10, 2008. She was born in Flagstaff on Sept. 13, 1940, the daughter of Fred and Florence Cook.

She worked at the Marcus J. Lawrence Hospital, now the Verde Valley Medical Center. She was also the office manager of Rose Appliance.

Joyce was a faithful member of the Cottonwood Assembly of God Church, where she made many friends and touched their lives with her many special gifts and ministry.

She leaves behind her husband of 33 years, David L. Rose of Cottonwood; her son, David L. (Tracie) Rose of Phoenix; her daughters, Joyce L. (George) Winckler of Cottonwood, Debra L. (Randy) Cockrell of Mesa, Tamra L. Liggett of Cottonwood, and Kim Lich also of Cottonwood. She is also survived her brother, R. Jay (Carol) Cook; her sisters, Barbara Cook and Frances Duvall; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services are today, March 14, at 1 p.m. at the Cottonwood Assembly of God Church. Joyce will be laid to rest at the Valley View Cemetery.
