Camp Verde sales tax up from last July

Other Verde Valley communities’ numbers are down

Camp Verde was the only Verde Valley community to show an increase in retail sales tax and total sales tax for the first month of fiscal year 2008-2009. Retail sales tax climbed from $74,103 in July 2007 to $113,080 for July 2008.

The total sales tax revenue for July '08 in Camp Verde was $233,588, that's up from '07's total of $194,569.

Cottonwood was down in total sales tax and retail sales tax in July from the same month last year. Retail sales tax collections hit $482,098 compared with $540,619 in July 2007. Total sales tax revenue also dropped. In July of 2007 Cottonwood collected $872,243. But July's total sales tax for this year was $840,144.

Clarkdale saw a big drop in total sales tax revenue for July. In 2007, the town collected a total of $119,907 in sales tax. That dropped to $59,093 for July 2008. Retail sales tax also dropped from $6,861 in 07 to $5,223 for 08.

Jerome's total sales tax revenue dropped from $42,444 in July 07 to $37,409 for July 08. Retail sales tax also dropped slightly from $16,893 in July of 07 to $16,218 for July of 08.

Sedona almost stayed even with last July's total sales tax revenue. A year ago, Sedona took in $1,253, 632 in total sales tax for July. This year, the total amount for July was $1,252,755. Retail sales tax for Sedona dropped from $311,178 in July of 2007 to $305,458 for July of 2008.
