There were 89 fathers and sons on the hike hosted by Immaculate Conception Church and St. Joseph’s Catholic School.

On Sunday morning, Feb. 15, 89 fathers and their sons hiked Marg's Draw Trail on the Red Rocks of Sedona as a joint event of parishioners from Immaculate Conception Church and parents and students from St. Joseph's Catholic School in Cottonwood.

According to Greg Kirkham, principal of St. Joseph's and an experienced Sedona guide, "Father Pawel's father and son hike, workshop and Mass was an inspiration to all. The beauty of the Red Rocks amplified the experience. It is easy to see why Marguerite Brunswig Staude selected this beautiful area for The Chapel of the Holy Cross."

The four and a half-hour hour hike included celebration of Sunday Mass amidst the red rocks with Father Pawel, associate pastor of Immaculate Conception Church presiding. A mother-daughter hike is planned for the future.

St. Joseph's Catholic school provides a faith based education and offers the highest quality academic education. The school is located at 2715 E. 89A, Cottonwood. For more information, call the school at (928) 649-0624.
