It's a brand new year for the Sedona-Verde Valley chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners, and the new Board is taking it by storm.
"Let's face it," says new board President, Mary Cravets, "the past few years have been tough on business owners. We recently asked our membership what they needed to succeed, and our board has committed to bringing them what they asked for: inspiration and motivation, business education, and business networking."
The local chapter offers a wide variety of benefits to members that reach far beyond our little valley. As a part of national organization, members belong to a sisterhood of powerful business women across the country. This year, an emphasis will be put on how members can get the most out of their membership both locally and nationally.
At a recent retreat, members of the new board brainstormed and identified ways they could better serve to members, and guests feel more welcome.
"Women business owners in the Verde are looking for inspiration, fresh ideas and fun - and this year's NAWBO is going to deliver," says Shawna Bowen, Education Chair. "We have great speakers, great programming, all loaded with enthusiasm and sparkle!"
If the new board's contagious enthusiasm is any indication, it's certain that NAWBO will be considered the "must-have" membership for professional women in the Verde Valley.
"Look out Sedona - here comes NAWBO-SVV - new and improved and about to blow your socks off," says Marian Sjostrom, Past President. "This year you'll see programs that inspire and motivate, and business education to move you ahead in your business - because that's what our members wanted! You can do all this while networking with some of the most welcoming and fun women in the Verde Valley. We are anxious to meet and greet new members, and help in any way we can."
All women business owners are welcome to check out the monthly luncheons, which happen on the second Thursday of each month starting in September.
