Verde Valley Care Givers Volunteers and staff are setting up Christmas Giving Trees filled with gift tags for low-income neighbors. Each tag contains information regarding the needs of one of the organization's neighbors, such as warm socks, slippers, or a blanket.

Trees are being set up at the Sedona Public Library, the Cottonwood Public Library, and Wal-mart. Visitors at each location are invited to select a gift tag, purchase the needed items, and return them to a box located near each tree.

Volunteers will collect, wrap, and deliver the presents. In the past, this project has provided Christmas cheer to more than one hundred elders each year. Some neighbors report this is the only present they receive at Christmas.
