Letter: Turn down the noise

Noise. It seems to be everywhere these days and it's intensity and duration is increasing especially in the last two years here in my area of town in The Views of Camp Verde. Can anyone honestly say that we don't have a relentless sound assault of loud motorbikes, loud ATV's, loud trucks, loud power tools, loud leaf blowers, problem barking dogs, and now more than anytime since I started calling Camp Verde home in 2002, an increase in the drone of air traffic over our once peaceful community?

Perhaps the journalist team at Western News can use their resources and find out if indeed there is more air traffic and more single engine planes being flown in/out of Camp Verde and/or more private airstrips in the Camp Verde and surrounding areas? I am pretty sure area realtors do not inform home buyers that if they buy a home in Camp Verde they also get an airport. We could have bought near the Cottonwood airport if we loved the sounds of air traffic.

I have to believe I'm not the only Camp Verde retiree and/or resident who has noted the increase in all forms of noise in town who is voicing my concerns with this increasing encroachment of noise and the lower quality of life that it brings into our hectic lives. Thank you in advance for any information Western News can impart to help explain the increase in air traffic in the Camp Verde area the past few years.   Kind regards and a hope for some occasional peace and quiet in Camp Verde.
