Monday BOS meeting looks at two zoning requests

The Yavapai County board of Supervisors will consider a zoning request and a use permit at its Monday, March 19, meeting in Cottonwood.

The Zoning change is for a private residence. The applicant is asking that the board change the zoning of their parcel from open space to residential zoning R1L-25, so they can build a private home on the approximate one acre parcel at the corner of South Cayuse Trail and East Pueblo road adjacent to Verde Village Unit 5.

In Cornville, property owners Bruce and Kathlyn Bramlett are requesting a Use Permit to allow for the operation of a veterinary clinic at the corner of Page Springs Road and Schwab lane.

Hoping to construct the Cornville Pet Clinic, the applicant has received eight letters of support and one objection. The one objection expressed concerns over the precedent that would be set with a zoning change, not the issuance of a Use Permit.

The property is within an area designated as commercial use under the Cornville Community Plan and within the land use goals of the Yavapai County General Plan.

The board will also consider declaring April as Fair Housing Month.
