Many of us continue to struggle financially and emotionally. Some of us are suffering because of fewer resources, fewer hours on the job, fewer customers in our stores. It would seem a very bad time for any organization to be asking for your help. However, it is critical to remember that at most times there is always someone who is suffering more than you.
Every Christmas season for over 24 years, the Camp Verde Adopt-a-Family program has striven to help those families most in need. The citizens, students, churches and businesses of Camp Verde have rallied to do whatever was necessary to provide some joy to children why would otherwise have nothing for the Holidays. This community is fantastic, and I am proud to be a part of it. There are more families than ever that may be facing the prospect of a bleak and empty Christmas morning. More parents than ever are fearful that their children will have no reason at all to celebrate this "happiest season of all." The Adopt-a-Family program of Camp Verde is asking, is begging, is praying that everyone who is able, in any way at all, big or small, can offer some help to the most hurting members of our community.
Can you adopt a family? Even a small family of two or three? Can you donate some of your hard-earned money? Even a little bit? Please, whatever you can do to provide these children a reason to rejoice will be more appreciated. It will bring a smile to faces that would otherwise be grim. It may bring tears of joy to the eyes of a parent who would otherwise be near to great sadness and depression. You can do this, to help, to give back, to do the right thing, to meet some moral standard of your own, for whatever reason, please, please, help this year. Thank you and God bless you all. God bless Camp Verde.
You can help by sending a donation to Adopt-a-Family Program, c/o Camp Verde Kiwanis Club, PO Box 974, Camp Verde AZ 86322, or contact Pat Kaminsky at (928) 301-6495 to adopt a family. If you with to adopt a family we ask that you get each child at least an outfit and a toy or gift, and the family a gift certificate to Bashas.
