County supervisors to name new board chairman, vice-chair

COTTONWOOD - During a 9 a.m. meeting Monday at the Cottonwood hearing room, the Yavapai County Board of Supervisors will chose a chairman and vice chairman for the new calendar year.

This will be the first time a chairman has been chosen from among five seated supervisors instead of the former three members.

The board is also expected to decide how to distribute forest payments in lieu of taxes (PILT). The payments are distributed to counties where federal lands generate revenue. During the current year, the county distributed $2.7 million dollars among roads, schools and supervisor-approved forest projects.

Human Resources will also give the supervisors a presentation of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and the impact of the ACA on Yavapai County operations.

The hearing room is located just inside the front door of the Verde Valley County Administrative Complex at 10 S. Sixth St., Cottonwood.
