Labor Day holiday DUI enforcement results

YAVAPAI COUNTY -- Through grant funding made possible by the Arizona Governor's Office of Highway Safety, the Tri-City DUI Task Force participated in DUI Saturation Patrols over the Labor Day holiday as part of a sustained effort to combat impaired driving in our communities.

In total, 12 officers from the Prescott Police Department, Yavapai County Sheriff's Office, and Arizona Department of Public Safety participated in the enforcement. Officers made 111 traffic stops that led to seven people being arrested for driving impaired. Out of the seven arrested, two were arrested for aggravated DUI or felony DUI, two were arrested for driving under the influence of drugs and two were charged with extreme DUI having a blood alcohol concentration of .150 or greater. The average alcohol concentration was found to be .166, double the legal limit.
