Rimrock man charged with assault of minor

FLAGSTAFF -- A 66-year-old Rimrock man has been arrested in Flagstaff, charged with inappropriately touching an 8-year-old little girl. A witness was an eyewitness when David Thomas Kiester touched the girl's buttocks in the Flagstaff Walmart.

The Flagstaff Police say the little girl was alone at the time in the produce section, while her mother was shopping. The witness told the mother, who attempted to chase down the man as he fled toward the exit with no purchases. Other customers were alerted and prevented Kiester from leaving the store until police arrived.

Walmart was able to produce video surveillance documenting the act. Kiester attempted to deny the incident, but later said it was an "accident."

The Rimrock man was booked into the Coconino County jail.
