BEAVER CREEK - During the Beaver Creek School District Governing Board meeting in May, the board discussed the tentative budget for fiscal year 2016. On Monday, the board will discuss the public comments and the budget.
The proposed budget will be finalized and posted 10 days ahead of the July 13 Governing Board meeting, which is when the BCSD Governing Board will vote on the budget. The public can submit comments on the budget to firstname.lastname@example.org. The budget can be viewed on the school website www.bcs.k12.az.us.
The board will also discuss, review and possibly approve expenditures for the fiscal year 2016 budget to include a new math program for K-5 students.
The board will also discuss and possibly approve an increase for the Certified Substitute rate. The rate as of right now is $90 for the hours of 7:45 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. The board will consider a new rate of $106 for the hours of 7:15 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Both rates are based on the same hourly rate of $12.86.
In other board news, the district will review the policies of open enrollment to include program capacity, as well as behavioral requirements and classroom capacity. This discussion will also take place at the board meeting on July 13, which will allow open enrollment families to complete a new packet before next year.
The public is encouraged to attend the June 8 meeting, which will be held on Monday at 6 p.m. at Beaver Creek School, located at 4810 E. Beaver Creek Road in Rimrock.
