County Flood Control District updates community on new library's progress

CAMP VERDE - The engineer and project manager of the new community library, Yavapai County Flood Control District Stormwater Engineer Paul Jungen is coming to the library to discuss the progress.

Jungen will be accompanied by Vickie Lewis, hydrologist with Yavapai County Flood Control District and Lynn Whitman, District engineer.

The three will talk about the work they do in flood control and how that will affect the library.

"Potential flood waters heights, velocities, and flow paths were analyzed to further protect the future library and its patrons," said Jungen.

There will be a presentation about the role the Flood Control District has played in making sure the building's design is up to the standards that will respect the waterways created by heavy rainfall.

The presentation is suitable for all ages and everyone is encouraged to attend.

"The Library Construction Talks give people the opportunity to get the facts about the library project," said CVCL Director Kathy Hellman.

The presentation will be at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 29 at the Camp Verde Community Library, located at 130 Black Bridge Road, off Montezuma Castle Highway.
