Interstate 17 partially reopened near Cordes Junction

PHOENIX - One northbound lane on Interstate 17 south of Cordes Junction has reopened, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation. The southbound lanes of I-17 at State Route 69 have also reopened.

The highway has been closed intermittently throughout the day because of a wildfire in the area. As conditions change, the restrictions on I-17 may be adjusted. Drivers are urged to use caution in the area and consider alternate routes. Northbound drivers looking for an alternate route may take State Route 87 north to SR 260, west to Camp Verde and north on I-17. Southbound motorists can use I-17 south to SR 260 at Camp Verde, east to SR 87 and south on SR 87 to the Phoenix area.
