I-17 northbound now open near Sedona exit

SEDONA – The northbound lane of I-17 was reopened about 11:24 a.m. today after a closure due to a crash at milepost 302.5 near the Sedona exit, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

The long traffic backup is expected to take some time to clear.

The northbound lane was closed around 9:30 a.m., and a medical helicopter was sent to fly out one of the crash victims, according to Peter Corbett of ADOT.

According to DPS spokesman Bart Graves, "A sedan collided with a semi at that location. There are serious injuries to the sedan driver."

The southbound lanes remained open during the incident.
