A joint study by the U.S. Geological Survey and the National Parks Service indicated that contaminant levels for copper, arsenic and barium in sediment soils exceed ecological and human health screening levels.

Although contaminants discovered in Tavasci Marsh will delay further action on the management and habitat enhancement plan, there are no plans to restrict or stop any of the current activities at the marsh.
