Come glean the Murdock Family Farm in Camp VerdeSept. 21If you have never heard of a “gleaning,” don’t feel alone. In the old days at the end of the growing season, farmer would turn the public loosen their land and for a small sum allow them to glean the remaining produce. Today from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., the Murdock Family Farms and the Verde Valley Community Supported Agriculture are inviting the public to come glean the Murdock Family farm at 210 E. Kobrick Lane, behind the Camp Verde Library. Tomatoes, winter squash, chilies, peppers, okra and eggplant will be available for bargain basement prices. Free lemonade and iced tea will be served.
