KC's Family Tae Kwon Do opened the doors of the Camp Verde Multi-Use Complex Theater to the public on Saturday, April 13, for their annual Black Belt Extravaganza. 10 black belt candidates and past black belt recipients performed complex martial arts routines individually and in groups during the two and a half hour event. Following the performance and testing stages of the program, each student had to present a brief monologue to the audience describing how Tae Kwon Do has benefited and changed their perspective on life. Phoenix-based Tae Kwon Do instructor Master Preston then awarded the black belt to the adult and youth students. KC's Family Tae Kwon Do has locations in Cottonwood and Camp Verde and received the Verde Pride Business of the Year award for 2012.
