On Thursday evening, May 8, Camp Verde Elementary School Fifth Grade Class presented, "At the Hop," a musical tour of 1950's classic rock n' roll. Students in five classes sang, danced on and in front of the stage and thoroughly entertained the packed house at the Phillip England Center for the Performing Arts. Musical Director, Mrs. Kathleen Murlless, wearing a black leather motorcycle jacket, led the students through twelve songs that have become a part of the bedrock of modern popular music. Choreographers Ms. Shelly Surber and Mrs. Erica Crittenden had the kids, who were decked out in blue jeans and poodle skirts, doing the Bop, Jitterbug and Twist like they were raised in the era.
