On Wednesday evening, May 21, South Verde High School held a commencement ceremony for its graduating class of 2014. The graduation took place at the Phillip England Center for the Performing Arts in Camp Verde. Principal Steve King presided over the evening, introducing Muddy Road Award recipient, Alma Venegas, and Valedictorian, Bryanna Baxley, as well as presenting diplomas, with the assistance of Superintendent Dr. Amber Lee, to each of the 17 graduates. Native musicians Verde Valley Boys performed a traditional Apache song and Vincent Randall gave the dedication for the evening festivities; both set an inspiring example for the graduates to follow.
