CLARKDALE – The Yavapai County Medical Examiner has determined the skull found in the Verde River at the Tuzigoot River Access Point to be historical remains.
Copper Canyon Fire and Medical Authority responded to a multiple-vehicle accident on the 1-17 north of Camp Verde last night, according to a CCFMA media release.

Around 7:33 p.m. Thursday, Copper Canyon Fire and Medical Authority emergency crews from Station 81 responded to a vehicle fire involving an RV trailer on I-17 northbound at mile post 283.5.
FLAGSTAFF -- Two Cottonwood residents died following a single-vehicle accident near Christmas Tree Estates in Flagstaff.
Deputies found two victims, both deceased, identified as a mother and son, according to a press release from Det. Sgt. Stephen Butler of the Camp Verde Marshal’s Office.
Friday July 15, just before midnight, Copper Canyon Fire and Medical Authority responded to a call of a vehicle that left the roadway and crashed down an embankment off I-17.
Drivers heading north on Interstate 17 should expect delays due to heavy holiday traffic and the lingering backup from a vehicle fire that temporarily closed the roadway near Sunset Point Rest Area, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.
COTTONWOOD – The Chevron Station in the 1200 block of SR 260 was robbed at gunpoint by a male suspect around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to a news release from the Cottonwood Police Department.
May 22, at approximately 10:30 p.m., Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a motorcycle collision on Cornville Road east of State Route 89A.
Around 3:19 p.m. May 5, the Arizona Department of Public Safety responded to a single rollover fatality on I-17 at milepost 290.3 near Camp Verde. The driver and lone occupant of the vehicle was identified as Lyle Prat, 66, of Camp Verde.
An 89-year-old Prescott woman, caught up in a scam that had cost her thousands of dollars, called for help and a Yavapai County Sheriff’s detective prevented an additional loss of $28,000.
A Rimrock man was killed following a roll-over vehicle collision on Forest Road 119 (Montezuma Well Road) Friday at 4:15 p.m., according to the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office.
Cottonwood police are currently searching for a 25-year-old man who went missing Tuesday.
No injuries reported
A single-vehicle accident on northbound I-17 just past SR 260 in Camp Verde resulted in a blocked right lane around 8 a.m.
Around 2:51 a.m. Monday, CCFMA emergency crews from Stations 81 and 82, along with Verde Valley fire units from Station 32, were dispatched to a residential fire in the 3000 block of Valley Vista Road in Rimrock.
A single-vehicle accident Nov.30 at 6:24 a.m. on SR 260, east of Camp Verde at milepost 230, took the life of a 52-year-old Cornville man, said Bart Graves, media specialist for Department of Public Safety.
ADOT says traffic backed up for two miles
Both lanes are now open on 1-17 after a four-vehicle collision one mile south of Camp Verde.
Wednesday, Sedona Police arrested Aaron Orrica, 46, and charged him with several counts of sexual assault and sexual abuse.
The northbound lane of I-17 was reopened about 11:24 a.m. today after a closure due to a crash at milepost 302.5 near the Sedona exit, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.
