Camp Verde softball loses out on home game after Sedona cancels season

Camp Verde High softball lost one of its remaining home games.

The Cowboys’ Apr. 17 game against Sedona Red Rock was canceled after the Scorpions announced they are dropping their varsity program for the season.

No. 3 Camp Verde won the game in Sedona against the Scorpions 23-3 on Mar. 29. Sedona Red Rock was down to nine players for that game.

The Scorpions finished the season 2-4, 1-2 in 2A Central play and ranked No. 25.

Camp Verde now has one home game left, No. 6 Surprise Paradise Honors on Apr. 20. The Cowboys are 7-0 at home this season.
