In spite of accusations of plagiarism leveled several times against Jesse Walter Fewkes, he will forever be remembered for his dedication to preserving many ancient southwest ruins so future generations could appreciate them. His efforts resulted in the creation of several National Monuments including Honanki, Wapatki, Mesa Verde, Casa Grand and Navajo National Monument.
